Hacking Measurement
Final Presentations for a Course Co-Sponsored by Social Science Matrix
The Berkeley Institute for Data Science (BIDS) is located in Doe Library, on the UC Berkeley campus. BIDS can be accessed to your immediate left when entering the library's main entrance.
In affiliation with the Social Science Matrix seminar on "Hacking Measurement," the BIDS Collaborative connects graduate and undergraduates students to solve challenging social and scientific data-science problems for real-world clients. On December 8, participants in this initiative will present the projects they worked on this semester, ranging from understanding issues of diversity at UC Berkeley to analyzing air pollution. Projects include:
- Brainspell: Large Scale Meta Analysis for Brain Image Data
- EDAM: Ecostation Data Access Monitor
- HeartBEAT: Heart Monitoring Bluetooth EKG Affordable Technology
- Save Seistool! Earthquake Measurement & Visualization
- Air Quality Sensor Evaluation
- CEGA Trace: Measuring the Impacts of Development Research
- rcSensing: Automatic Remote Conflict Sensing
- Understanding Dropoff Rates Feeder Courses
- Hiring of Women Faculty
- The Carpool Project
- Glass Bead Labs: Understanding Education and Research Processes
