Survival Analysis, Event History Modeling, and Duration Analysis
Part of the ICPSR Summer Workshops at UC Berkeley
Matrix is located on the 8th floor of Barrows Hall, on the UC Berkeley campus, near Telegraph and Bancroft Avenues, just up the hill from Sather Gate. There are entrances at both ends of the building, but only one of the elevators on the eastern side goes directly to the 8th floor. You can alternatively take the stairs to the 7th floor and walk up the stairs.

This course is concerned with the increasingly popular methodology of survival analysis, event history modeling, or duration analysis in the social, behavioral, medical, and life sciences as well as the educational, economics, business, and marketing disciplines. The fundamental concepts of censoring, survival function, and hazard function are initially discussed. The interrelationship between the survival and hazard functions as well as their relations to the distribution of the underlying time to event are then examined.
