Ryan Whitacre

Anthropology

Ryan Whitacre is a candidate in the PhD program in medical anthropology offered jointly by UC Berkeley and UC San Francisco. His research focuses on understanding how people negotiate ethical issues in science, technology and medicine. He conducts qualitative research with the UC Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law and the San Francisco Department of Public Health, and is working toward a dissertation about HIV treatment and prevention.
